Lucia Ojeda Cárdenas has over 20 years of professional experience on competition, area which she has exercised from the private and academic sectors. Further, she has great experience in legal analysis of regulated markets and in assessments concerning investment arbitration.

Lucia Ojeda is a Partner at SAI Law & Economics and head of the Competition Practice since October 2002. In her professional practice, she has represented clients in obtaining authorizations from the competition authority for the realization of global, regional and national transactions; initiating investigations for anticompetitive practices; defending companies’ subject to antitrust investigations; among other professional services. Moreover, she has assisted clients from diverse sectors such as telecommunications; food; pharmaceutical; auto parts; retail; iron, steel and rail industries. Her experience handling antitrust cases in Mexico joined with her ability to work in conjunction with highly specialized economists within SAI makes her the perfect choice for complex transactions and cases.

Due to her extensive practice in competition/antitrust issues, Lucia has participated in the consulting group of specialized private lawyers that was formed under the request of the competition agency for the discussion of the initiative to amend the Federal Law on Economic Competition, its Regulations and other related administrative provisions. Lucia has also been very active in the National Association of Enterprise's Lawyers (ANADE) where she has been elected Chair of the Competition Committee for the period 2005-2006 and 2007-2008. As chair of the competition committee, she has been in charge of the organization of several lectures and actualization events on competition law with governmental and academic institutions such as the Federal Competition Commission, the Project of Facilitation of the Free Trade Agreement between Mexico and the European Union (PROTLCUEM), the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (ITAM), the Tecnológico de Monterrey and the Universidad Panamericana (UP).
