Alina Lacatus is a counsel in the corporate and competition groups of in the DLA Piper Bucharest office.
Her vast experience includes advising companies mainly from the life sciences sector, but also FMCG & retail, automotive, advertising and telecommunications in all matters related to the competition law rules.
Focusing her activity on the life sciences market, Alina’s portfolio of clients included key players on the Romanian market in Romania whom she advises on a wide array of regulatory matters (marketing authorizations, pricing and reimbursement, disclosure obligations, advertising and promotion practices, clawback), changes in the distribution systems, as well as various types of agreements (including clinical trials), interactions with healthcare authorities, etc.
Alina's competition law expertise includes advising and representing clients in front of the Romanian Competition Council in investigations (both sector inquiries and targeted investigations aimed at potential breaches of both national Competition Law and EU competition rules), dawn raids, compliance advice (e.g. mock dawn raids, compliance programs, trainings, competition audits, assessment of competition-related implications on a wide array of business models, risk assessments and development of strategies both on day-to-day activities as well as challenging decisions of the Romanian Competition Council).
Alina has successfully coordinated merger clearance processes in a wide array of sectors such as healthcare, FMCG, media and advertising, e-commerce, oil & gas.
