Mtre Christopher Richter, a partner at Woods LLP since 2004, is named as a ‘local litigation star’ by Benchmark Canada and ranked in Chambers Global since 2011. He has practised in the area of civil, corporate and commercial litigation since 1996, including securities litigation, product liability, professional liability and employment law. As a member of the Bars of Quebec, Ontario and British Columbia, he has pleaded before the trial and appeal courts of Quebec, before the Federal Court and Court of Appeal, the Superior Court of Ontario and the Supreme Court of Canada, as well as various administrative and arbitral tribunals. His practice includes class action litigation, and he has a special interest and experience in private international law issues. He has taught civil procedure at McGill University and the University of Montreal. Mtre. Richter is a native of Vancouver, BC and a graduate of the University of Toronto (BA, 1990) and McGill University (LLB and BCL, 1995). Active in the Canadian Bar Association for many years, Mtre. Richter was Quebec branch chair of the International Law Section and chair of the Business Dispute Resolution Committee of the National ILS, and is now active in the International Bar Association’s Litigation Committee.
