Chris was admitted as an attorney in 1991 and as a solicitor of England & Wales in 1998. From 1997 to 1998, he worked in the London office of a respected English law firm in the company and commercial department. Chris then spent three years in Athens in association with a leading Greek firm dealing with international mergers and acquisitions and drafting international contracts.
Chris subsequently returned to South Africa and re-established the firm of Christodoulou & Mavrikis Inc and subsequently opened an office in Athens 2004 with George Mavrikis. Chris practises mainly in the aviation field advising both local and international aviation clients, particularly on contractual issues and other aviation related work, including negotiation and drafting aircraft acquisition agreements, charter, lease and management agreements. The firm has represented aviation insurers, brokers and owners in a number of aviation claims.
Chris served as a non-executive director of a local commercial airliner for more than seven years and chaired various sub committees. Chris is the contributor of the 2013 edition of The International Comparative Legal Guide to Aviation Law; published by Global Legal Group Ltd, London (www.iclg.co.uk ) as well as the South African Chapter of the International Commercial Debt Collection (Ed David Franklin) published by Thomson Carswell in 2007.
Chris was appointed by the Minister of Transport as a member of the South African Civil Aviation Appeal Committee in 2017 for a three-year period.
