Dr Ismail Selim worked in the judicial system for almost 12 years where he started off as a Public Prosecutor in the Office of the Prosecutor General of Egypt, then a civil Judge at Mansoura Primary Court until he joined the lawyers ‘profession in 2009.

In parallel to his former judicial career, Dr Selim acted as a Legal Advisor at the Cairo Regional Centre for International Commercial Arbitration (“CRCICA”) from 2003 until 2007. He has been constantly appointed as Presiding arbitrator, Sole Arbitrator and Co-Arbitrator and has acted as a Counsel in several CRCICA and ICC arbitral cases in the fields of telecommunications, electricity, oil and gas, hospitality, construction, banking, media and entertainment, commercial agencies as well as civil and commercial contracts.

Dr. Selim is registered as member of the Egyptian Bar Syndicate.  He acts as Counsel in different areas of litigation before the judicial order Courts, civil, commercial or criminal, including the Economic Courts and in post-arbitral litigation proceedings.  Dr Selim has also handled dispute resolution proceedings before different governmental dispute resolution committees as well as criminal proceedings before the Public Prosecution. He also handles litigation proceedings before the Administrative and High Administrative Courts. 

Prior to joining Al Tamimi & Company, Dr. Ismail Selim was a partner at Zulficar & Partners in Cairo from December 2009 until April 2015.

On the academic level, Dr. Selim holds an MPA degree from the National School of Administration in Paris (ENA) and a PHD Doctorate from Bourgogne University in France and teaches Private International Law at IDAI. He has published numerous articles and was a speaker in several arbitration conferences.
