Leopoldo Pagotto is the partner at Freitas Leite in charge of the antitrust and anti-corruption practices. He advises companies in several industries, such as banking, telecommunications, IT, mining, shipbuilding, car parts, infrastructure and pharmaceutical. Leopoldo has been recognised by Chambers and Partners as a foreign expert in competition law and M&A for Japanese clients. He was also considered to be one of the ‘40 under 40’ by Global Competition Review in the category internal investigations. He has written several papers and made several presentations on antitrust and compliance, lecturing regularly about these topics. After holding several other positions in the Ethics Tribunal of the Brazilian Bar Association, São Paulo Chapter, Leopoldo was reporter for the Chamber No. 20 and the Chamber No. 1, which were in charge of respectively judging peer lawyers and providing professional guidelines on ethics. Currently, he is the Vice-Chair of the Anti-Corruption Committee of the International Bar Association (IBA). Graduated from University of São Paulo (USP) (1999), Law School of USP (Specialisation in Capital Markets Law) (2000), Law School of USP (LLM in Economic Law) (2005), London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) (MsC in Regulation) (2005) and Law School of USP (PhD in Economic Law) (2010).
