Byung-Chol (B.C.) Yoon is a partner at Kim & Chang and the co-chair of the firm’s International Arbitration and Cross-Border Litigation Practice. He has extensive experience in arbitration both within and outside of Korea. He has advised and represented clients in more than 200 arbitrations under the rules of the ICC, LCIA, AAA, SIAC, HKIAC, JCAA, ICSID, BCCC and KCAB, as well as in ad-hoc arbitrations. He is currently a court member of the ICC International Court of Arbitration and member of SIAC Users Council (South Korea National Committee) after serving as a member of the SIAC Board from 2009. He currently serves on the arbitration panels of ICSID, SIAC, ICDR, HKIAC and KCAB. He was the President of the Korean Council for International Arbitration, playing a key role in promoting international arbitration and revising the KCAB’s International Arbitration Rules. At the same time, he served as the Secretary General of Seoul IDRC. He is consistently recognised as one of the leading practitioners in the field by notable legal directories including Chambers, Legal 500 and The International Who’s Who of Commercial Arbitration.
