William Redgrave is a Partner in the firm. He is both a Jersey Advocate and an English Barrister with over 20 years’ experience of litigation and a focus on advocacy. He practised at the English Bar for 13 years before moving to Jersey in 2008.
William has considerable experience of litigation and advocacy and extensive skills in obtaining freezing and disclosure orders in aid of both Jersey and overseas litigation. He has built an excellent reputation in the field of asset recovery, with a strong focus on commercial and trust disputes and civil fraud.
William leads Baker & Partners’ representation of BNP Paribas Trust Corporation in a high-value breach of trust dispute, one of the largest in Jersey in recent years, which came to trial in 2017.
He has also frequently advised and assisted financial services business and regulators in Jersey on a variety of regulatory matters and has acted for customers in bank mis-selling cases. He has conducted regulatory cases on behalf of both regulated businesses and the regulator. William appears both for the Law Society and practitioners in lawyers’ disciplinary matters.
In 2012 William was appointed as a Crown Advocate, entitling him to prosecute serious crimes in the Royal Court.
William is a member of the Association of Contentious Trusts and Probate Specialists (ACTAPS), demonstrating his extensive experience in dispute resolution in relation to trusts.
William contributes articles on matters of legal and regulatory interest to legal publications. In 2017 he was recognised for his expertise in dispute resolution and ranked in Band 3 of Chambers and Partners’ 2017 legal directory.
