Dr Friedrich Ludwig Hausmann joined PwC Legal as a partner in 2014. He is head of Public Procurement Law Germany and works at the Berlin office. After being admitted to the Bar in 1996, Friedrich joined an international law firm which eventually merged into Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer LLP in 2000. Friedrich was appointed partner two years later. Since 2009, he was Partner and Head of Regulatory at K&L Gates LLP in Berlin.
Friedrich’s practice focuses on public procurement, privatisation and PPP as well as on antitrust, competition and trade law. His work includes representing clients before the German public procurement review bodies, the competition authorities and national and European courts. Friedrich has broad experience in interacting with and working for German governments at federal, states and municipal level, including support of legislative proposals and processes. He also supports national and international public contractors and utilities on the planning and the design of procurement procedures for particularly complex PPP and infrastructure projects in the fields of energy, water and waste management, transport and healthcare, as well as private companies and consortia as bidders in such projects. Friedrich publishes and lectures regularly on public procurement, competition and European law as well as on PPP.
