Steve Wilner’s practice focuses on financial and corporate matters, ranging from global real estate acquisitions, dispositions, development and finance to international mergers and acquisitions and restructurings, including private equity investments and joint ventures. His recent experience includes advising Brookfield Asset Management in its PIPE investment of $400 million in Hospitality Investors Trust, Inc., a real estate investment trust, as well as and its $2.5 billion acquisition of Associated Estates, a publicly traded multifamily REIT. According to Chambers USA, Steve was recently described by a client as "the most practical and effective transactional real estate attorney I've come across," particularly for "large transactions needing lots of sophistication, and he is great at managing many different activities and tasks at one time." He is a member of the American College of Real Estate Lawyers, the premier organization of U.S. real estate attorneys. Steve is a partner in the New York office.
