The law firm of Freidenberg, Freidenberg & Lifsic was founded in 1940 by Dr. Lázaro Freidenberg, accountant and lawyer. It started as a law firm specialised in commercial law and real estate. Today it is heavily involved in providing advice to Argentine and foreign clients in wider fields of the law, mainly in commercial transaction, corporations, joint ventures, foreign investments, air law and air policy, among others.

Our practice areas include:

  1. Integral advice in aviation related matters:
    • Advise and handling of airline’s starting up in Argentina (on line – off line). In this regard our law firm takes responsibility to request traffic rights to the Civil Aviation Authorities, technical and operative matters to the Argentine Air Force, Immigration and Customs issues, labour matters pertaining to airline’s employment, taxation, IATA / BSP / ICH, code share, interline agreements and related matters.
    • Assist airlines in their day-to-day operations.
    • Negotiation of aircraft leases and purchase agreements, airport and airline ground handling agreements;
    • Defense of airlines and their underwriters in personal injury, hull, cargo and baggage claims;
    • Insurance claims and coverage
    • The law firm has been often retained to cooperate with foreign counsel in matters requiring advice on aviation matters in other Latin American countries where this law firm uses local counsel in the respective countries.
  2. Integral advice on corporate matters:
    • Incorporation, spin off, mergers and dissolution of companies. Advise to members of the board and stockholders.
    • Advice in shareholder agreements, joint ventures, reorganisation of societies, incorporation of national and foreign stock holders, strategic alliances, purchase and sale of minority and majority interests, due diligence, sale of companies assets.
    • Defense of the shareholder interests.
    • Registration of trademarks and licenses.
    • Registration of companies and their stocks for the sale on the Argentine Stock Exchange.
    • Tax laws’ effects in the different activities of the companies.
  3. Integral advice in commercial subjects:
    • Drafting of agreements, negotiations, interpretation and analysis of contracts and local and international sale agreements.
    • Technology licences, distribution, representation and managing agreements.
  4. Proceedings in the legal area:
    • The law firm has a wide trial activity in local and federal courts. It also represents its clients in the provincial courts or in domestic arbitration and international arbitration proceedings with the American Arbitration Association (AAA) and the International Chamber of Commerce and IATA.
